Wednesday 7 August 2019, Vientiane, Laos – KiwiPay, the leading payment solution provider in Laos enters in agreement with Laos Central Bank, Laos Ministry of Finance and the Lao Development Bank to provide easy cashless payment solution for visas processing in Laos borders and SMBs cashless payment capabilities.
KiwiPay solutions have been in test in Vientiane’s Wattay International airport for some time already, in order to provide cashless payment of visa for Chinese tourists using Alipay’s facial recognition feature. In 2018, more than 900,000 chinese citizens have visited the country of Laos and the government is targeting more than 1.2 million chinese tourists in 2019.
“The solutions has proven the ability to speed up and ease the visa process for tourists. We are now testing the solutions with governments in several other frontier markets in South-East Asia and up to 7 countries in Africa.” said Gregory Schmidt, CEO & Founder of Kiwi Group.
